Hey! This is Raelynne Lee, again reporting the on-goings of the team. Now our regular season is over and we are currently in BIG EAST Tournament. We ended up being the second seed in the American Division, so we got a bye the first round, which gave us an extra day of rest last week, and went immediately into the quarterfinals. I felt that the days leading up to the quarterfinal game went very well. I enjoyed myself at every practice, not because they were easy, but because we were all working hard and pushing each other to get better and prepare for the game against Georgetown.
Before the game on Sunday, I honestly felt a deep sense of connection between everyone and a deep mental focus that we were ready to fulfill our destiny. The game was probably a nail-bitter for the fans sitting in the stands and no it wasn't a picnic for the girls on the soccer team, but the outcome was exactly as we had been envisioning it all week...St. John's victorious over Georgetown.
Monday was our day for celebrating the excitement over the win, but now its back to work. We have to put the same, if not more, work in for Friday's BIG EAST Semifinal game I'm very excited for this upcoming week, but I will be taking it one day at a time like I always try to do. The FIRE is growing stronger and hotter.
Peace, Love, and Soccer
