Met Am Update: Round Of 16 Tomorrow With An STJ Showdown

The 110th Metropolitan Golf Association Met Amateur kicked off today, with three St. John's men's golfers scoring at or below par to advance to the 16-player match play bracket.Rising junior Ryan McCormick led the way with a 65-72--137(-5) to tie for third. Rising senior Pat Wilson and rising sophomore Dylan Crowley had identical rounds of 68-74--142(E) to tie for 12th.

In the round of 16, teammates McCormick and Wilson will go head-to-head at 7:50 a.m. with the winner advancing to the quarterfinals, while Crowley will face off against Greg Etimos of Island Hills Golf Club in the paring behind them at 8.

Both McCormick and Wilson said they were excited about their matchup, with McCormick saying it "should be a lot of fun." Wilson agreed that it would be fun, but "unfortunately one of us will have to go home early."
