St. John's Summer Basketball Camps and Clinics Photo Gallery
Head coach Steve Lavin brings his summer basketball camps and clinics to the St. John's University Queens campus and other locations in the New York area in the Summer of 2011. The St. John's basketball camp has grown in each of the last six years, as nearly 1,000 youngsters participated in the Summer 2011 sessions, up from 700 in 2009, 2008 and 2007, 600 in Summer 2006 and 500 from Summer 2005. All boys between seven and 18 years of age are invited to participate in this year's version.
Fundamentals and fun on the hardwood return this summer for several sessions. Two five-day Instructional Camps on St. John's Queens Campus run from Aug. 8-12 and Aug. 15-19. A single-day Skills Clinic on June 4 and a two-day Shooting Clinic from June 29-30 will also be held on campus this summer. All on-campus camps and clinics take place in air-conditioned Taffner Field House and newly-renovated Carnesecca Arena.
An additional five-day Instructional Camp will be held at the Northport, N.Y., NorthSport Athletic Facility from June 27-July 1.
The camps and clinics staff includes the St. John's coaching staff, as well as some of the top coaches in the area and across the country. Campers are grouped by age and ability level to provide a positive experience.
