Recently represented the U.S. as a member of the National Team at
the World Championships in Turin, Italy … competed in such places
as Kuwait and Qatar as a member of the team … served as captain of
the men’s team and posted an .818 winning percentage with 27 wins
and six losses … made his third straight NCAA Championship
appearance … kept his streak alive of finishing in the top 10,
coming in ninth place … went undefeated against local rivals NYU
and Columbia … posted 14 wins at the Brandeis
Invitational.
2004-05
Earned All-America honors by taking 10th place at the NCAA
Championships … posted a 19-4 record during the regular season,
which was second-best behind Arpad Horvath in the epee.
2003-04
Took second place at the NCAA Championships, earning his first
All-America honors … went 23-5 in the regular season … competed in
all 12 matches.
Before St. John’s
Was the No. 1 ranked junior epee in the United States … took
second place at the Under-19 Summer National Championships in 2002
… finished 17th at the Junior World Cup in November 2003 … came in
sixth place at the NAC/Division I Junior World Cup in January 2003
… ranked 15th out of 178 at the Junior Olympics in Colorado in
February of 2003 … has been fencing for more than 10 years … was a
bronze medalist at the Cadet World Championships.
Personal
Born and raised in Queens, N.Y. … parents are Deborah and Dwight
Bratton … has two sisters, Jillian and Meredith … majoring in
psychology.
