The St. John's dance team finished in third place in Hip Hop in 2014.
Jan. 13, 2015 QUEENS, N.Y. – The St. John’s dance team is headed to Orlando, Florida, this weekend to compete in the 2015 Universal Dance Association (UDA) College Cheerleading & Dance Team Championships.

“This team is ready and cannot wait to perform their routines this weekend on the national stage,” said head coach Christine McCarton. “They have been working very hard for the past seven months to get to this point. The amount of determination they have this year is outstanding and we hope to bring home another medal to St. John’s this year.”

The two-day event will be held on Saturday and Sunday, Jan. 17-18, at the Walt Disney World Resort as the St. John’s dance team competes against Division I teams from across the nation in both the Hip Hop and Jazz categories.

St. John’s will open the competition on Jan. 17 with its Hip Hop performance at 11:33 a.m. before performing its Jazz routine at 5:45 p.m.

Along with a program-best second place in 2011, St. John’s has finished among the top 10 in Hip Hop in each of the past four years, taking fifth and eighth place in 2012 and 2013, respectively, before bringing home a third-place medal in 2014.
