RedStormSports.com Holiday Weekend Data Move Information|
July 1, 2010
QUEENS, N.Y. - CBS Interactive, the website administrator for RedStormSports.com and hundreds of other leading college and university official athletic websites, has announced a data move over the July 4 holiday weekend for all sites on its network.
During the move, most of the RedStormSports.com will remain unaffected, but some areas may lose functionality temporarily over the weekend. In addition, the RedStormSports.com editorial staff will be unable to post new content until the move has been completed.
All breaking St. John's news will be delivered via each athletic team's Twitter sites during the move. To follow Red Storm teams on Twitter, click here.
We thank you, as always, for your patience and support.
To: RedStormSports.com Constituents
Over the coming holiday weekend, we will be moving our core infrastructure to a data center in Los Angeles that ranks as one of the most prominent technology facilities in the Western U.S. As a result of this move, we will see a significant expansion of our core infrastructure environment and our network connectivity. This move will enable us to better serve our partner, the St. John's University athletic department, and its constituents.
The effort will begin at approximately 3:01 a.m. E.T. Friday morning. We expect the move to be completed within 24-36 hours - however, it may carry into Sunday, July 4. Throughout the move, RedStormSports.com will remain visible to the world, but there will be a few components of the site that will be unavailable or will not function. Access to core content such as headlines, schedules, bios, rosters and photos will not be interrupted.
Additionally, St. John's Athletics personnel will be unable to post new content to RedStormSports.com during this move. However, SJU has arranged for real estate on stjohns.edu as a means for posting any breaking news that may develop during this down time. There may not be any news, but if there is, you can access it via Twitter by clicking here.
We thank you in advance for your understanding and patience, and wish everyone a fun and safe holiday weekend.
