Teller returns to St. John's sidelines as head coach.

QUEENS, N.Y. -
St. John's Department of Athletics announced the hiring of Red Storm alumna, Carolyn Teller as the new head cheerleading coach.
A familiar face to Red Storm fans, Teller was a four-year member and two-year captain of the St. John's cheerleading squad. Since graduating in 2009, she has served as the head cheerleading coach at NYIT. With the Bears, she was responsible for all the choreography and instruction of a Division ll cheer squad. For the past two years, she was also the gymnastics and choreography coach for Long Island Lutheran Middle and High School cheerleading teams.
In addition to her cheerleading experience, she is also trained in physical therapy and choreography for gymnastics. Teller was a gymnastics instructor and cheerleading program director for C.S. Gymnastics in Flanders, N.J., from 2002-09.
A Farmingdale, N.Y. native, Teller received her B.S. in sport management in 2009 from St. John's University and is currently a physical therapy assistant for Advanced S.P.O.R.T.S in Queens, N.Y. Teller was also a graduate assistant for physical education research at Adelphi University from August 2009 through May 2010. She is certified in first aid CPR and has her certification with the American Association of Cheerleading Coaches and Administrators.
