Alec Johnson begins his first year at St. John’s in 2017-18, serving as the primary contact for the Red Storm’s lacrosse, cross country, track & field, and tennis programs.
Johnson comes to Queens after spending 2013-2017 as a Media Relations Student-Assistant at the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks, N.D.
At UND, Alec served as the primary contact for the Fighting Hawks' women's soccer, and swimming & diving programs. He also was the secondary contact for men's hockey, football, men's & women's basketball, and volleyball. In those years, Johnson attended multiple NCAA Tournaments with the Fighting Hawks, as the men's hockey program advanced to three NCAA Frozen Fours and claimed the 2016 NCAA DI National Championship in Tampa, Fla.
Johnson also served as the Assistant Media Relations Director for the 2015 & 2017 NCAA DI Men's Ice Hockey West Regional in Fargo, N.D., as well as, an Assistant Media Relations Contact for the IIHF U-18 World Championships in Grand Forks, N.D.
A native of Fargo, N.D., Johnson graduated from UND with a bachelor's degree in Communication and French. He is currently pursuing his master's in Sport Management.
