Doug Trani is in his eighth year as Associate Athletic Director for Compliance at St. John's University. In this capacity, he oversees all matters pertaining to compliance with National Collegiate Athletics Association (NCAA) rules and regulations. Trani came to St. John's University from Columbia University, where he served in a similar capacity from August 2006 to July 2007. Among his responsibilities were coordination and implementation of all aspects of compliance systems, and the development and implementation of rules education for staff members and outside constituents regarding Ivy League and NCAA legislation.
Trani spent three years (2003-06) as the Assistant Director for Compliance and four years (2007-11) as the Associate Director for Compliance at St. John's University before his current role.
Trani completed his master’s of science from St. John's University School of Education in December 2003, while serving as the graduate assistant for the compliance office. As an undergraduate, Trani was a basketball student-athlete at New York University where he was a co-captain in 1999 and appeared in the Division III NCAA Tournament in 1996, 1997 and 1998.
Trani and his wife, Michele, and their sons, Mason and Miles reside in Northport, New York.
