Shannon Skeggs was promoted in June 2014 to Athletics Event Manager. Prior to being promoted to Athletics Event Manager, Skeggs served two years as a Graduate Assistant.

In her role as a Graduate Assistant, Skeggs was primarily responsible for the scheduling duties of the St. John's athletic fields including Carnesecca Arena, Taffner Field House, Belson Stadium, Jack Kaiser Stadium, DaSilva Memorial Field, Red Storm Field and the tennis courts. Skeggs also handled the booking of meeting and media rooms for the athletic teams, coordinating with the assistant and head coaches of St. Johns' 16 athletic teams.

Before coming to St. John's, Skeggs served as a meeting planner for the pharmaceutical industry handling the majority of international conferences. This included all logistical aspects including airport transfers, dinner arrangements, hotel bookings, and ancillary meeting bookings.

Skeggs graduated from Molloy College in 2010 with a B.A. in Communications Arts and a minor in Spanish. While at Molloy, Skeggs was a 4-year member of the softball team. She was an NFCA scholar athlete in 2008 and she received the Athletic Director's Association Academic Achievement Award in 2009. In her senior campaign, she helped her team make it to the Division 2 College World Series in St. Josephs, Missouri. She was also a 3-year member of the tennis team.

Skeggs also participated in the New York Empire State Games for 5 years helping the Long Island Region win a gold medal in 2008 and silver in 2010. Skeggs received her Master of Professional Studies in Sport Management from St. John's University in 2014.
