Laemmel, a native of Merrick, N.Y., returned home to New York in 2009 after serving two years as an intern within Athletic Academic Support Services Department at the University of Louisville. With the Cardinals, her responsibilities included counseling and monitoring the academic progress of members of the football team.
She also assisted with the coordination of Louisville's Student-Athletes of Color Combining Opportunity and Responsibility for Excellence (SCORE). Prior to studying and working at the Louisville, she worked for The Women's Sports Foundation, Disney's Wide World of Sports and Springfield Technical Community College.
Laemmel received her master's degree in sport administration from Louisville in 2009 and earned her bachelor's degree in sport management with a minor in business at Springfield College in 2006.
