The Wednesday baseball game between St. John's and Albany has
been rained out. No makeup date has been announced.
The Red Storm and Great Danes were scheduled to play a 3 p.m.
contest at Albany for the second game of a home-and-home series.
St. John's gets back into BIG EAST Conference action this weekend
with a road trip to West Virginia for a series that begins Friday
at 7 p.m.
Early on Wednesday, the Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference
(ECAC) announced that sophomore pitcher Scott Barnes was the
organization's Pitcher of the Week. Barnes' no-hit, 14-strikeout
performance at Georgetown on Friday also drew praise from
Collegiate Baseball Newspaper, the National Collegiate Baseball
Writers Association (NCBWA), Ping! Baseball and the BIG EAST
Conference.
St. John's has won eight straight games and 14 of its last 15
entering the series at WVU. The Mountaineers are coming off a 13-2
win over Maryland on Tuesday and have a 24-13 overall record, 6-8
in BIG EAST play.
