QUEENS, N.Y.
Head baseball coach
Ed Blankmeyer is hosting a fall mini-camp for high school
student-athletes from Sept. 1 and 8, 2007 at Jack Kaiser Stadium.
The one-day clinic is for players between the ages 15-18 who are
looking to play collegiate baseball and have an interest in St.
John's University. Blankmeyer, along with assistant coaches
Scott Brown,
Mike Hampton and
Julio Vega host the camp with goals to develop skill and
provide player analysis.
Tuition for both dates is $90 per session. Campers are
encouraged to register early, as enrollment is limited and both
sessions are expected to fill quickly. Registration begins at 8:30
a.m. on the day of camp and the schedule runs until live games at
1:15 p.m., 3:30 p.m. and 6 p.m. The camp also features a live
defensive workout, batting practice and a lunch.
Blankmeyer and staff also host a Last Chance Mini-Camp on Oct.
21, 2007 in Queens, providing the same skill development and
evaluation for interested campers who missed the September dates.

Blankmeyer and the 2007 Red Storm baseball team eclipsed the
40-win mark for a third consecutive season and captured the
program's fourth BIG EAST Conference regular season title. St.
John's advanced to the NCAA Myrtle Beach (S.C.) Regional and was
ranked as high as No. 23 nationally during the regular season. For
his efforts, Blankmeyer was named the 2007 BIG EAST and Northeast
Regional Coach of the Year, while a record eight players earned
All-BIG EAST recognition.
