QUEENS, N.Y.
On July 30, the Office of Athletic Development at St. John’s
University held the 10th Annual Baseball Bullpen Outing. This
year’s event was held at the Plandome Country Club and was attended
by over 125 people.
The event raised over $35,000 and had a few notable attendees,
as well. Topping that list was the MVP of the 1987 World
Series and the 1988 A.L. Cy Young winner, Frank Viola.
Athletic Director Emeritus, Jack Kaiser, and former men’s
basketball coach, Lou Carnesecca were also in attendance.
"This year's golf outing was once again very successful.
Financially it was a success and we were also very happy with the
amount of alumni that we had involved," said Head Baseball
Coach Ed Blankmeyer. "The event simply gets bigger and better
every year."
St. John’s University would like to extend their sincere
appreciation to the following corporate partners that provided
promotional support to this year’s outing: Amtrak, Callanen
International, Coca-Cola Bottling Company of New York, Delta Air
Lines, ESPN Zone New York, glacéau, Tri-State Lincoln Mercury
Dealers Association and Hempstead Lincoln Mercury. The event
was a great success and everybody involved had a fantastic
time.
Thanks again to all of our corporate sponsors that helped make
this event so successful.
