One of the Red Storm's most athletic players … was a
standout pitcher, position player and football player as a prep at
nearby Holy Trinity High School … throws three pitches for strikes
and locates a two-seam fastball with a lot of movement … is quick
off the mound and can field his position well.
As a Sophomore (2006)
Had a 4-2 record, 2.70 ERA and .219 opponent batting average in
33.1 innings ... made five starts and one relief appearance … went
at least five innings in all five of his starts, including a
career-high 7.1 innings in a win over Texas State (Feb. 25) …
increased his strikeout rate as the season went on and fanned a
career-high seven batters in his final start vs. Georgetown (April
1) … won both of his BIG EAST starts and had a 1.64 ERA in
conference play … did not allow a walk or extra-base hit and struck
out two over five innings at Villanova (March 26) … fought through
some early College of Charleston runs by retiring eight of the last
10 batters he faced in the March 10 series opener ... allowed seven
hits and four earned runs in six innings … won his second straight
start by allowing just five hits and one run in six innings at East
Tennessee State (March 3) … worked a career-high 7.1 innings
against Texas State (Feb. 25), earning a win in his first start of
the season ... allowed just three hits and one run and struck out
one in the win.
As a Freshman (2005)
Made nine appearances and two starts … was 1-1 with a 4.29
ERA and 20 strikeouts in 21.0 innings … allowed just 17 hits and
held opponents to a .218 batting average … had a 2.16 ERA and nine
strikeouts in four appearances when walking one batter or less (8.1
innings) … six of his nine appearances were at least two innings …
was the team's most effective pitcher in a pair of NCAA Tournament
games against Oregon State (June 5-6) … threw 1.1 scoreless innings
with one strikeout in the first game against the Beavers and
allowed two runs and struck out five in 4.0 innings in the second
game … earned a win with 4.0 scoreless innings in his first career
start against St. Peter's (April 12) … struck out two and did not
allow a hit or run one inning against Wagner (March 30) … threw two
scoreless innings at Florida International (Feb. 26) in his first
career appearance.

and carried a 5-0 record with 71 strikeouts in 49 innings as a
senior in 2004 … as a scholastic, had 90 hits, 28 home runs and 70
RBI, while carrying a 21-2 record with a 0.94 earned run average in
171 innings.
