Hit .281 with three home runs, two doubles, a triple, 12 RBI
and 10 runs scored in 26 games … had a .509 slugging percentage and
a solid .400 on-base percentage … reached base safely in 16 of his
last 21 games and walked nine times in the last 17 games … led the
team with four hits and 11 at-bats as a pinch hitter … hit a
pinch-hit RBI single in the ninth inning of a BIG EAST Tournament
loss to top-seeded Notre Dam (May 26) … doubled and was hit by a
pitch in three plate appearances against South Florida (May 13) …
went 3-for-7 with a home run, triple and three RBI in a
doubleheader sweep of Fairleigh Dickinson (April 18) … walked twice
and scored a run in a win over St. Peter’s (April 11) … singled,
walked and scored a run in a home win over Columbia (March 28) …
was 4-for-13 with a double, two runs and one RBI in a three-game
series against Quinnipiac (March 18-19) … hit two towering home
runs and had five RBI in the team’s home opener against Albany
(March 14) … walked and drove in a run at then-No. 4 Rice (Feb. 24)
… singled and was hit by a pitch in four plate appearances in the
season opener at Texas Tech (Feb. 19).
At South Carolina
Played for two College World Series teams while at South
Carolina, appearing in 98 games over two-plus seasons … made a
combined 59 starts as a catcher and designated hitter for the
Gamecocks … hit .228 with six doubles, two home runs and 14 runs
batted in as a sophomore in 2005 and hit .257 with seven doubles,
two home runs and 14 runs batted in as a junior in 2004.
At Carmel
Played three varsity seasons at Carmel High School … hit .510 with
five home runs and 31 RBI as a senior ... named all-league,
all-section and All-SIAC that season and was selected by the
Arizona Diamondbacks in the eighth round of the 2002 MLB Draft ...
also played football and earned all-league and all-section honors
his junior and senior seasons.
