On Hill: Dynamic and explosive guard recovered
from off-season knee surgery … a candidate for all-conference
honors looking to return to form after leading the Red Storm in
scoring as a freshman and sophomore … an electrifying performer on
both ends of the floor … a versatile and adept scorer with the
ability to change speeds, slash to the basket, stop and pull-up or
hit from long-range … one of the best on-ball defenders in the BIG
EAST with a knack for anticipating passes and stepping into the
passing lanes … ranks tied for 31st on the St. John’s all-time
scoring chart with 1,156 career points, and is one of 42 players in
St. John’s history to reach the 1,000-point plateau … owns a 16.5
ppg career scoring average … a career 75.0 percent free throw
shooter … has played all 40 minutes in 19 career games.
Norm Roberts On Hill: “Daryll has gone through
the injury and has done a good job in rehab trying to get his legs
back. We’re definitely going to need leadership from Daryll.
Hopefully he’s going to regain his explosiveness, which makes him
so difficult to guard in our league. We’re going to look for Daryll
for leadership. He has been a guy that has been through the league
and understands the toughness of the league. It is his senior year
and I know he wants to go out on a good note.”

while battling through injury to play in 16 games … averaged 33.6
minutes per outing, contributing heavily when able … was second on
the team in scoring and assists (3.6 apg) and third in steals (1.0
spg) … scored 11 points and tied a career-high with nine assists in
36 minutes at Marquette (Feb. 1) … netted a season-high 17 points,
grabbed three rebounds and dished out five assists in 35 minutes
against then-No. 9 West Virginia (Jan. 29) … was 6-of-13 from the
floor and scored 13 points at No. 1 UConn (Jan. 25) ... also
grabbed three rebounds and recorded a steal … contributed nine

Milford Academy in Connecticut, where he was coached by Bob Riggio

At Cardozo High School: A four-year starter at
Benjamin N. Cardozo High School in Bayside, N.Y., where he was
named the Most Valuable Player for the New York City Public School
Athletic League (PSAL) … led the PSAL in scoring as a senior …
four-year captain … helped lead Cardozo to the PSAL Championship in
1997 when he was a sophomore … led the Long Island Panthers AAU
team to the Las Vegas Big Time Championship in 2000.
