QUEENS, N.Y.
On Thursday, Jan. 25 St. John’s student-athletes volunteered at
the Athletic Department sponsored blood drive held in Carnesecca
Arena. Athletes from various sports assisted New York Blood
Center workers with registration and at the fueling station, as
well as donating.
“I always feel really great after donating,” said women’s soccer
midfielder Jessica
Simonetti. “It’s a great feeling to know that my one donation
that day will help save the lives of at least three people.”
The blood drive gave the St. John’s community the opportunity to
help the less fortunate. At the end of the day, 83 pints of whole
blood were donated.
St. John’s will hold its next blood drive on Feb. 21 and 22 in
Council Hall and Donovan Hall in the Residence Village,
respectively. For questions regarding the blood drive, please
