As a Freshman (2004): Had a strong freshman campaign for St. John's, posting a 5-2 record with a 2.91 earned run average ... appeared in 15 games, making four starts ... threw 58.2 innings, allowing 27 runs (19 earned) on 52 hits with 20 walks and 28 strikeouts ... went 3-1 with a 1.90 in six appearances in six BIG EAST appearances (three starts) ... gave up only seven runs (five earned) on 21 hits, with seven walks and 13 strikeouts ... earned his first collegiate win in a 9-7 decision against UNC-Asheville (March 13), throwing 5.1 innings and allowing one run on four hits ... named BIG EAST Pitcher of the Week on April 18 after posting back-to-back wins at Notre Dame and at Boston College ... threw 6.1 innings against the Irish (April 12), allowing one unearned run on five hits with two walks and four strikeouts ... came back five days later and threw 5.0 innings, giving up one run on five hits with two walks and two strikeouts, in a 7-1 win at BC (April) ... improved to 5-1 in the regular season finale, a 17-4 win over Pittsburgh (May 23), throwing 6.2 innings, yielding one earned run on two hits, with two walks and four strikeouts.
