Red Storm to Have Three Baseball Games Carried on BIG EAST Digital Network|
Jan. 25, 2018
QUEENS, N.Y. -
The BIG EAST Digital Network presented by SoFi released in 2018 spring schedule on Thursday afternoon, a slate that will include three contests featuring the St. John’s baseball team.
Fresh off its 36th NCAA Tournament appearance in 2017, the Red Storm will have three of its games carried on BEDN, available worldwide on FOXSportsGO.com and the FOX Sports GO app.
The Johnnies will make their 2018 BEDN debut on Sunday, April 29, as the Red Storm and the Xavier Musketeers close out a series in Cincinnati that will serve as a rematch of the 2017 conference championship game. First pitch is scheduled for 12 p.m. Last season, St. John’s and Xavier both made the NCAA field of 64, marking the first time since conference realignment that the league sent two teams to a regional in the same season.
Two weeks later, BEDN will carry the series opener between longtime local rivals Seton Hall and St. John’s live from South Orange on Friday, May 11, at 4 p.m. The Red Storm won three of the four matchups between the perennial powers in 2017, including a 3-2 victory on the second day of the BIG EAST Tournament.
The Johnnies will close out the 2018 regular season on BEDN, playing host to Butler at 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 19.
BEDN will also provide comprehensive coverage of the opening rounds of the 2018 BIG EAST Baseball Championship at Prasco Park in Mason, Ohio, broadcasting the first three days of the tournament before FS2 picks up the telecast for Championship Sunday.
The Red Storm’s full broadcast schedule, which also includes a nationally televised game against Butler on CBS Sports Network, will be released at a later date.
