Baltz Named Chapel Hill Regional MVP; Seven Players Earn All-Tournament Honors|

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - Jeremy Baltz was named the Chapel Hill Regional MVP and was one of seven St. John's players selected to the Chapel Hill Regional All-Tournament Team after the Red Storm went 3-0 in the regional to advance to its first Super Regional in program history. Danny Bethea, Kyle Hansen, Sean O'Hare, Kyle Richardson, Frank Schwindel and Matt Wessinger joined Baltz on the All-Tournament Team.
Baltz, who earned Charlottesville Regional MVP honors as a freshman in 2010, batted .400 (4-for-10) with two doubles and one home run for a .900 slugging percentage. The outfielder scored eight runs, added two RBI and posted a .571 on-base percentage.
Bethea batted .300 (3-for-10) with a .500 on-base percentage, one double, one home run and four RBI. The catcher had a walk-off three-run home run to cap a four-RBI day in a 5-4 win against UNC that sent the Red Storm into the Finals.
Hansen finished 1-0 with a 3.68 ERA in the regional, notching the win in the opener against ECU. The righty had eight strikeouts in 7.1 innings of work.
A pair of three-hit games helped O'Hare bat .538 (7-for-13) with two RBI in the regional, while Richardson batted .357 (5-for-14) with three RBI.
Schwindel batted .429 (6-for-14) on the weekend and was 5-for-5 with three runs scored in the Finals.
Now a three-time NCAA Regional All-Tournament selection, Wessinger batted .429 (6-for-14) with two RBI and three runs scored. The senior previously earned Charlottesville Regional All-Tournament honors in both the 2011 and 2010 tournaments.
