QUEENS, N.Y. - Kyle Richardson went 4-for-4 with three RBI to pace a 16-hit barrage as Red evened the Intrasquad World Series at one game apiece with an 8-2 triumph against Black. Michael Bradshaw went 3-for-4 with an RBI in the seven inning contest, while Zach Lauricella, Dan Roland and Vince Tranchina added two hits apiece for Red. Stephen Rivera allowed just one run on three hits in 6.0 innings of work on the mound for Red. Eric Peterson was 3-for-3 and Julien Plana went 2-for-3 with an RBI to pace Black.
Richardson and Pat Talbut led off the top of the first inning with back-to-back singles and both came around to score as Red took an early 2-0 lead. Richardson was then plunked with the bases loaded in the second inning to put Red up 3-0.
Black got on the board in bottom of the second as Bret Dennis made it a 3-1 game with an RBI fielder's choice.
Red answered, however, scoring for the third-straight inning and taking a 5-1 lead with a two-run third. After Lauricella lined a one-out double to right field, Robert Case singled to set up runners on first and third before Bradshaw followed with an RBI single. Following a Roland single, Tranchina made it 5-1 with a sacrifice fly.
Rivera, meanwhile, worked a 1-2-3 third inning before his offense made it 7-1 as Richardson added a two-run triple in the fifth. The righty went on to work 1-2-3 innings in both the fifth and sixth, retiring the final seven batters he faced.
Red made it 8-1 in the seventh as Richardson led off with a single before advancing to second on a passed ball and stealing third. Talbut then walked and Sean O'Hare was plunked to load the bases before Kevin Grove was plunked to force in a run.
Plana added a two-out double in the bottom of the seventh to make it an 8-2 game.
