Another New Yorker on the Red Storm basketball staff, St. John's own C.J. Council is in his second season as a graduate assistant in the men's basketball office.

Council is responsible for a variety of administrative duties in the basketball office, including film exchange, supervising student managers, assisting student-athletes in career development and assisting in day-to-day operations. Council also plays a large role at the Norm Roberts Summer Basketball Camp.

Originally from Brooklyn, Council graduated from Christ the King High School in Middle Village, Queens. He went on to earn a B.S. in sports management from St. John's in 2004.

No stranger to the hardwood, Council served as an assistant coach for Christ the King's junior varsity squad from 2000-01 to 2005-06. He also coached at New York City Tech during the 2005-06 season, and has been a coach with AAU squad Team Odom during summers from 2003 to 2006.

In addition to his responsibilities with the Red Storm coaching staff, Council is pursuing a master's degree in administration and supervision from the St. John's School of Education.
