QUEENS, N.Y. - Team Notes

  • St. John's finished the regular season 20-10, its first 20-win season since finishing 21-13 in 2002-03. The Red Storm also notched 20 wins in the regular season for the first time since 1999-00.
  • St. John's concluded the regular season tied for third in the BIG EAST standings, its best finish since finishing third in 2002.
  • The Red Storm outrebounded USF, 36-27. St.John's has grabbed more rebounds in each of the past four games.
  • St.John's shot 42.1 percent (24-for-57), surpassing the 40.0 percent mark for the 23rd time this season. St. John's is 18-5 in those games.
  • After shooting zero free throws in the first half, the Red Storm finished 18-of-25 from the charity stripe in the second half.
  • The Red Storm won for the sixth time this season when trailing at halftime.
  • St. John's improved to 8-0 this season when four players reach double-figures.

    Individual Notes

  • D.J. Kennedy scored 16 points to reach double-figures for the 17th time this season and 79th time in his career. The senior now has 1,493 points and sits in 12th place all-time, 43 points shy of moving into a tie for 11th place.
  • Dwight Hardy recorded at least three 3s for the ninth time this season. Hardy, who made at least one 3-pointer for the 16th-straight game, finished with 14 points and concluded the regular season averaging 18.1 points in conference play.
  • Held to just two points in the first half, Justin Brownlee finished with 13 to notch double-figures for the 21st time this season.
  • Paris Horne drained one 3-pointer and now has 144 career treys, just four shy of moving into a tie for second place all-time.
  • Sean Evans grabbed a season-high nine rebounds and also scored nine points, his most since tallying 10 against Duke on Jan. 30 at Madison Square Garden.
  • Justin Burrell scored five points and now has 995 in his career, five shy of becoming the 47th player in St. John's history to reach 1,000 points.
  • Malik Boothe recorded a game-high five assists, his fifth game this season with at least five assists.
  • Dwayne Polee II grabbed two rebounds in 10 minutes of action and is averaging 2.5 rebounds per game in the past four contests.
