QUEENS, N.Y. - Basketball fans can go behind the scenes and follow the latest St. John's storylines each weekend on the Red Storm Report, an award-winning weekly television show dedicated exclusively to St. John's men's and women's basketball. The 2013 version of the popular show premieres on Friday, Jan. 4 at 4:30 p.m. on SportsNet New York (SNY).
The half-hour magazine-style show airs Fridays and will be replayed each Saturday from January through March. The Red Storm Report is a production of the St. John's Television Network (STJ-TV) with hosts Brandon Tierney and Tony Luftman joining head men's basketball coach Steve Lavin to bring fans the latest insights and feature stories surrounding the Red Storm.
Each week during the Red Storm Report, viewers can go into the "Eye of the Storm" for reports from Lavin, Tierney and Luftman. Fans can stay up-to-date on the latest program happenings in the "Cover Story," and get to know the current Red Storm men's and women's basketball student-athletes in the "Player Profile." Upcoming episodes feature a "Red Storm Student-Athlete of the Week," and fans get the chance to go "Inside STJ Women's Basketball," highlighting head coach Joe Tartamella's program with STJ-TV women's basketball analyst Julianne Viani.
The Red Storm Report, which captured a bronze Telly Award for its 2008 feature on Hall of Fame coach Joe Lapchick during the "100 Years of Basketball" celebration, is produced by the St. John's Department of Athletics through STJ-TV. The show is sponsored by Applebees, Bloomberg, the Cradle of Aviation Museum, Municipal Credit Union, UPS and The Daily News.
