QUEENS, N.Y. – For the second-consecutive year, Chris Mullin will participate in the Infiniti Coaches Charity Challenge, competing against other coaches around the country to raise money for worthy causes.
Mullin and the Red Storm will be taking part in the challenge on behalf of The Herren Project, an organization that seeks to provide assistance in taking the first steps toward recovery and a life of sobriety. Founded in 2011 by former NBA player Chris Herren, the foundation primarily aims to assist individuals and families struggling with addiction.
All 48 coaches will receive at least a $1,000 donation from Infiniti to their charity of choice. The 24 coaches that advance to Round Two will receive a $7,500 donation, while those fortunate enough to advance to Round Three will earn $10,000 donation. The four coaches that make the final will receive $15,000 per charity before the eventual winner earns a check for $100,000. In all, the challenge will generate at least $349,000 worth of charitable donations.
Voting opens today at 3 p.m. ET. Fans can vote for Coach Mullin through the contest website at infinititimeout.com or through their Twitter and Instagram accounts by using the hashtags #Timeout2Vote and #CoachChrisMullin. Both hashtags must be included in the post for a vote to count.
