Day One Results
FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. - The St. John's men's golf continued its spring slate at the Fort Lauderdale Country Club on Monday.
The Johnnies wrapped up day one of the Fort Lauderdale Intercollegiate and are currently placed 14th after shooting a combined 604 after two rounds.
As a team, Toledo is in the lead after carding a 573 (+22). Rounding out the top three spots is Austin Peay State and Connecticut, after turining in a 583 and 584 on the day.
St. John's was led by Austin Briggs who shot a 147 (+3) over two rounds of play, and is currently tied for 19th place overall entering tomorrow's final round.
Sophomore Gerald Mackedon, carded a combined 151 over two rounds, while fellow teammate Andrew Baek registered 152.
Rounding out scoring for the Johnnies was Ross Moore and Matthew Sweeney, who shot an overall 154 and 159.
Individually, Old Dominion's Nick Rencis leads the field, turning in a three-under 141, with Austin Peay State's, Michael Busse placed second after a two-under 242 outing. Four players currently sit in tie for third after recording a one-under 143 during day one.
The team returns to action tomorrow in the final round of Fort Lauderdale Intercollegiate beginning at 8:30 a.m. Results will be posted to Red StormSports.com following the final round.
