QUEENS, N.Y. - The St. John’s men’s golf team took ninth place on Tuesday at the 25th Annual Georgetown Invitational on Monday at The Members Club at Four Streams (Beallsville, Md.).
The Red Storm wrapped its fall season with a 304 team score in the final round to finish at 607 (+39). UNC-Greensboro won the event at 586 (+18) and Washington State’s Hank Frame was the top individual after shooting 68-75—143 (+1).
Junior Mark Costanza led St. John’s with his best finish of the season, carding a 77-73—150 (+8) to tie for 20th place. Senior Mike Ballo Jr. tied for 28th place with a 75-76—151 (+9).
STJ senior Evan Beirne carded a 77-76—153 (+11) to tie for 35th. Freshmen Jeremy Quinn and Peter Ballo rounded out the Red Storm’s five-man squad with a 155 (+13) and a 163 (+21), respectively.
The tournament was originally slated as a 54-hole event but inclement weather and frost over the weekend forced Monday’s planned 36 holes to be reduced to one 18-hole round.
