St. John's Wraps Up Regular Season at Rhode Island Invitational

QUEENS, N.Y. - The St. John's men's golf team wraps up the regular season in North Kingstown, R.I. on Monday when the team competes in the two-day, 36-hole Rhode Island Invitational at Quidnessett Country Club.

A shotgun start will begin play on both days of competition with Monday's opening round getting underway at 1 p.m. and Tuesday's final round starting at 8 a.m.

Andrew Baek will enter the tournament as the team’s number one golfer, followed by Gerald Mackedon, Austin Briggs, Ross Moore and Matthew Sweeney.

Last year at the Rhode Island Invitational, Mackedon recorded a top-10 finish, shooting a three-round 219. As a team, St. John's placed ahead of Iona, Lafayette, Niagara and Holy Cross with a three-round score of 928.

The field will consist of 11 competing programs, including: Bryant University, Central Connecticut, Fordham, Holy Cross, Iona, Lafayette College, UMass Lowell, Rhode Island, Rollins College, St. John's and Wagner.

All results will be posted to at the conclusion of each round.
