QUEENS, N.Y. (Aug. 27, 2013) - Former St. John's golfer Andrew Svoboda grabbed the final spot in the Top 25 on the Web.com Tour money list by a margin of just over $1,200 to secure his 2013-14 PGA Tour membership card.
Coming off his championship at the Price Cutter Charity Championship presented by Dr. Pepper only two weeks ago, Svoboda found himself in the Top 25 despite playing in only six events on the Web.com tour.
This past weekend, however, Svoboda was unable to make the cut at the Cox Classic presented by Lexus of Omaha where he shot three under (71-68--139), but was still able to maintain his position in the Top 25 with a total $140,540 earned on the Web.com Tour this year.
Svoboda narrowly held that position after dropping from 21st as he edged out Steven Alker for the final spot by a margin of $1,227.
"It's pretty awesome. I got really fortunate to make my way back to the PGA Tour and hope to make the best of the opportunity," said Svoboda.
Svoboda will open the first leg of the Web.com Tour Finals next weekend in the Hotel Fitness Championship at the Sycamore Hills Golf Club in Fort Wayne, Ind.
