The Red Storm enters Monday's tournament off an 18th place finish at the Hartford Hawks Invitational. Sophomore Gerald Mackedon led the Johnnies by posting a 71 in the final two rounds and will look to build off of that performance Monday by starting in the No. 1 slot. Junior Andrew Baek will be playing as the No. 2 golfer followed by fellow junior Matthew Sweeney, sophomore James Smoot and junior Jonathan Spicci.
About the Field
The Patriots will host their sixth-annual invitational that features a shotgun start with a total 54 holes of play, 36 on Monday and the remaining 18 on Tuesday. Tee time for both days are set for 8:30 a.m. on the par- 72, 7,071-yard course.
The field will consist of 18 programs: St. John's, George Mason, Appalachian State, Bethune-Cookman, Columbia, Delaware, Elon, Florida Gulf Coast, Georgetown, Lafayette, Longwood, McDaniel College, St. Bonaventure, St. Joseph's, Villanova, Wagner, Liberty (individuals) and George Washington (individuals).
The University of Missouri holds the lead for the most team titles with two as the Tigers took team medalist honors at the Patriot's inaugural invitational in 2012 and again in 2014. Old Dominion captured the most recent team title posting a three-under 849. Erik Lindwall of Eastern Kentucky carded a 207 (-16) to claim the top spot on the leader board in 2016.
