St. John's Back in Action at The Macdonald Cup|

QUEENS, N.Y. -The St. John’s men’s golf team participates in its fourth tournament of the fall slate with a trip to New Haven, Conn. for the Macdonald Cup on Sept 30.
The Johnnies will be participating in the Macdonald Cup for the first time since 2012, when they earned second place honors after carding a 287. The Red Storm looks to bring home the same success this time around under the guidance of Head Coach Mal Galletta along with five new faces.
About the Team
St. John’s is led by junior Andrew Baek. The Arcadia, Calif., native is coming off of a respectable performance at the Patriot Intercollegiate, where he led the Johnnies with a pair of 73s and a final round 77. Sophomore Gerald Mackedon will be playing in the no. 2 slot, followed by junior Matthew Sweeney, transfer Ross Moore and junior Jonathan Spicci.
About the Field
The Macdonald Cup will be held at The Course at Yale, a 6,825-yard, par 70 track. Saturday will begin at 7:20 a.m. with golfers teeing off the 1st and 10 th holes. The teams will wrap up play on Sunday with an 8:45 a.m. shotgun start.
The Macdonald Cup features 13 programs fielding 14 competitors: Brown, Bucknell University, Central Connecticut, Dartmouth, Fairfield, Fordham, Harvard, Princeton, St. Edwards, St. John’s, Stirling University, The University of Pennsylvania, and Yale. The Bulldogs will be fielding two teams during the event Yale and Yale II.
