St. John's Set to Complete Fall Slate at the Lehigh Invitational|
Oct. 19, 2017
QUEENS, N.Y. – The St. John’s men’s golf team is set to conclude the fall portion of its schedule on Oct. 20 in Bethlehem, Pa. as they participate in the Lehigh Invitational.
This will be the second-consecutive year that the Red Storm has closed out its fall slate with the Lehigh Invitational. The Johnnies saw success in 2016 when sophomore Gerald Mackedon produced a second-place finish at the Saucon Valley Country Club after posting a 145 over two rounds, propelling the Johnnies to a top-five finish.
The Port Jefferson native will look to build off last year's success, playing in the no. 2 spot for St. John’s. Junior Andrew Baek will play as the no. 1 golfer while Ross Moore checks in at the no. 3 slot. Rounding out the lineup for the Johnnies is Matthew Sweeney and James Smoot.
About the Field
The tournament will feature a total 36 holes of play, with the teams teeing off on Friday at 9:30 a.m. with the first 18 holes. The final round is set to start Saturday with an 8:30 a.m. tee time.
Twelve programs are set to compete on the par-72, 7,091-yard course: Bucknell, Colgate, Fairfield, Fordham, Hofstra, Iona, Lafayette, Lehigh, Monmouth, Rider, Siena and St. John's.
