Unanimous selection to the BIG EAST All-Freshman Team… College Soccer News Freshman All-American… no. 29 in the Top Drawer Soccer Freshman Top 100… ranked third on the team with nine points, scoring three goals and dishing out three assists… played in all 19 games and made 15 starts… nine of his 15 shots on the year were on goal… registered his first collegiate points with a pair of assists against UC Santa Barbara (Sept. 12)… scored his first St. John’s goals with a brace in the team’s 3-0 win over Xavier (Sept. 23)… picked up an assist at Creighton (Oct. 6)… scored the game winner in a 1-0 shutout of DePaul in Chicago (Oct. 21).

A four-year letterwinner and two-year team captain at Central Valley High School, where he scored a school-record 94 goals over the course of his career… named the Beaver County Times Player of the Year in 2016 after scoring 36 goals and dishing out 30 assists… named a Pennsylvania Fall State Star by Top Drawer Soccer… netted 32 goals and recorded 16 assists as a junior, earning Beaver County Times Player of the Week honors on one occasion… a two-time all-Western Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic League selection and a two-time Western Pennsylvania Soccer Coaches Association All-State honoree… played his club soccer for the Pittsburgh Riverhounds Development Academy… helped lead the team to a Atlantic Soccer League Championship in 2014.
Jack Alan Shearer… son of Pete and Barb Shearer … has an older sister, Julia, and two younger siblings, Riley and Owen … chose St. John’s for its soccer program, great academics and perfect location… lists his parents as the people who most influenced his athletic career and Thierry Henry as his favorite athlete… a member of the honor roll in high school… volunteered at Vacation Bible School and on several other church mission trips.
