Third-Seeded St. John's Will Host Sixth-Seeded Georgetown In First Round|

QUEENS, N.Y. - The St. John's men's soccer team, which earned the No. 3 seed in the Red Division for the second-straight season, will host Georgetown, the No. 6 seed in the Blue Division, in a First Round BIG EAST Tournament game at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 3 at Belson Stadium. The winner will travel to West Virginia for a quarterfinal matchup at 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 6.
St. John's (10-6-2) is making its 21st-consecutive appearance in the BIG EAST Tournament, the longest active streak in the conference, and has won a conference-record eight tournament crowns (2009, 2006, 2001, 1998, 1995, 1994, 1993 and 1992). The Red Storm is 30-13-5 overall in 23 previous appearances.
St. John's did not play Georgetown (10-4-4) in the regular season this year, but is 19-4-3 in an all-time series against the Hoyas that dates back to 1985. The Red Storm and Hoyas have not met since a 2-0 St. John's victory on Sept. 18, 2009.
The 12-team BIG EAST Tournament field features the top six teams from each of the two divisions. For the second-straight season, the semifinals and finals will be held in Harrison, N.J., at Red Bull Arena, home of the New York Red Bulls.
