St. John's Men's Tennis Completes First Weekend at Army West Point Shootout

WEST POINT, N.Y. - The St. John’s men’s tennis team completed its first weekend of the fall season on Sunday with three singles wins and four doubles wins at the Army West Point Shootout from West Point, N.Y.

The doubles pairing of Andrei Crapcenco and Ognjen Trejgut led the way for the Johnnies, posting a perfect 2-0 record on the weekend. 

The duos of Luka Sucevic/Vukicevic and Aguilera/Alex Roszkowski each finished the shootout play 1-1, defeating a pairing from NJIT and Army, respectively. 

On the singles side, Dusan VukicevicAlan Nunez Aguilera, and Crapcenco each picked up a win in singles matches against Army. 

Against NJIT

Next up for St. John’s is a trip to Malibu, Calif. for junior Luka Sucevic to compete in the Oracle/ITA Masters on Sept. 21-24. This national collegiate championship event will be held at Pepperdine University and the Malibu Racquet Club and will feature the returning Player of the Year from each Division I athletic conference, with one additional wild card spot. The tournament will consist of a double elimination 32-player men's singles draw and a double elimination 32-player women's singles draw, along with a single elimination 32-team mixed doubles draw.
