QUEENS, N.Y. - The Red White Club and the St. John's men's and women's tennis programs have announced that the Second Annual St. John's Tennis Gala will be held on Monday, Aug. 26, at the National Tennis Center in Flushing Meadows, N.Y.

"We're very enthusiastic about the Second Annual St. John's Tennis Gala," said head women's tennis coach Taka Bertrand. "Our partnership with the USTA and the U.S. Open has given St. John's tennis access to the best tennis facility in the country, allowing both programs to recruit and compete at the highest level. We look forward to celebrating this relationship and getting more alumnae active and excited about supporting St. John's tennis."

The fundraiser will begin with a private reception at 5 p.m. where signed copies of tennis legend Jimmy Connors' new book, "The Outsider: A Memoir," will be given out. On hand at the reception will be the former No. 4 men's singles player in the world Brad Gilbert, and former United States Davis Cup team captain Tom Gullikson.

Guests will then be treated to multiple tennis matches and the Opening Ceremony of the U.S. Open, including the introduction of former U.S. Open champions. The Ceremony will also feature a performance by four-time Grammy Award-winning artist and New York City native Lenny Kravitz.

Tickets are $500 for loge seating and $400 for lower promenade seating for the Opening Ceremony. To reserve your place today, please call 718-990-5539. Those wishing to attend must RSVP by Aug. 19.
