QUEENS, N.Y. - St. John's forward Maya Singleton was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll for the fourth time this season as announced by the conference offices on Monday afternoon following a 2-1 week for the Red Storm.
Singleton was a key asset for St. John's over the last three games, putting up a double-double in two of the team's three outings. Through all three contests the Indian Head, Md. native averaged a double-double with 11.0 points per game and 13.7 rebounds.
Most recently, Singleton paced the Red Storm in Sunday's matchup with Xavier as she tied for a team-high 16 points and led the Johnnies in rebounds with 14 to record her 10th double-double of the season, with that the senior ranks eighth overall on the national level.
Despite the Red Storm's loss to Providence on Tuesday, Singleton recorded a team high 18 rebounds, including eight on the offensive glass. The senior forward has recorded at least 15 rebounds in five games so far this season.
Overall, Singleton ranks first in the BIG EAST in double-doubles (10) as well as rebounding, averaging 13.4 boards per game. The veteran also ranks first in the league in offensive boards (4.8 rpg) and second in defensive rebounds (8.6 rpg).
Singleton and the rest of the Red Storm return to action on Jan. 10, when they continue BIG EAST play against Butler at Hinkle Fieldhouse, with tip-off scheduled for 7 p.m.
