BIG EAST Release
Adams, who scored over 3,000 points in a six-year varsity career for Como Park High School in Minneapolis, Minn., set career-highs in five different categories against the Golden Eagles. The rookie poured in a career-best 27 points on 9-of-15 shooting. Adams was on fire from behind the arc, draining six of her nine attempts from deep. Those six makes tied Akina Wellere’s six from earlier this season for the most in a game this year. Additionally, Adams grabbed five rebounds and logged 21 minutes of playing time, both also career-highs.
This is the fourth time a Johnny has been named the conference’s Freshman of the Week during the 2016-17 campaign. Adams joins Alisha Kebbe, who has earned the honor three times this season.
For the sixth time this season, Walker landed on the conference’s Weekly Honor Roll after scoring in double digits for the 17th and 18th times this season. The Maplewood, N.J., native scored 13 points on 5-of-11 shooting from the field while grabbing six rebounds against the Blue Demons.
Against the Golden Eagles, Walker netted 19 points on 8-of-13 shooting while bringing down seven rebounds and rejecting a pair of shots on Sunday. On the year, Walker’s 14.3 points per game rank eighth in the league, while her 47.7 field goal percentage sits seventh.
