QUEENS, N.Y. - St. John's will hold its annual Media Day for the Red Storm men's and women's basketball teams on Tuesday, Nov. 2, beginning at approximately 2:45 p.m. at STJ's state-of-the-art practice facility, Taffner Field House. Approximately 75 members of the media have been credentialed for the event, and, for the second-straight season, Red Storm supporters are too - thanks to StormTracker All-Access live streaming video on RedStormSports.com (subscription required).
StormTracker All-Access commentators Ralph Bednarczyk and Greg Rice, and sideline reporter Arielle McKoy, will take fans behind the scenes Tuesday with live coverage from the floor of Taffner Field House during media day activities.
Fans can log onto RedStormSports.com and subscribe anytime for the StormTracker All-Access online live (subscription) and on-demand (free) video service. Just click on the StormTracker All-Access button, enter your e-mail address and create a password to use the service. The subscription for live events is $9.95 per month and $79.95 for the year, which covers video and audio for more than 100 live athletic contests and special events featuring each Red Storm athletic program. RedStormSports.com also produces more than 250 free on-demand features annually, such as coaches' shows, pre- and postgame interviews, player profiles, highlight packages and other items posted online each week.
At approximately 2:45 p.m., St. John's coaches Steve Lavin and Kim Barnes Arico will address the media from the interview room in a press conference format, and the coaches and all men's and women's basketball student-athletes will be available for interview sessions from approximately 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. The coaches and many of St. John's men's and women's basketball players will join the All-Access commentators on-set for interviews.

The 2010-11 Red Storm men's squad returns five starters and 12 letterwinners from a 2009-10 team that posted a 17-16 record and reached the first round of the Postseason NIT. The Red Storm were picked sixth in the Preseason BIG EAST Coaches' Poll and are looking to improve upon a 13th-place BIG EAST finish in 2009-10. St. John's 10-man senior class includes returning scoring leaders D.J. Kennedy (15.1 points per game, 6.1 rebounds per game, 3.1 assists per game, 1.2 steals per game), who was a second team Preseason All-BIG EAST selection, Dwight Hardy (10.5 ppg, .383 3-point field goal percentage) and Paris Horne (9.2 ppg).
Barnes Arico, the 2010 MBWA Coach of the Year, and her squad are coming off the best season in program history, making its fifth appearance in the NCAA Tournament, advancing to the second round and finishing with a 25-7 overall record, including a 12-4 conference slate. St. John's finished No. 15 in the final AP Poll. Led by nine letterwinners, including junior Da'Shena Stevens, a Sporting News Preseason Second Team All-American and Preseason All-BIG EAST selection, sophomore Shenneika Smith, another Preseason All-BIG EAST selection and 2010 Full Court Press Freshman All-American and sophomore Nadirah McKenith, a 2010 Nancy Lieberman Award Final Candidate, the Red Storm was picked No. 14 in the Associated Press preseason poll and has been rated as high as 13th in the basketball preview magazines.
