Oswald Posts Career-Best Finish As STJ Takes Third In Sacred Heart Fall Classic

MILFORD, Conn. - The St. John's women's golf team wrapped its fall season and junior Ellen Oswald posted a career-best fifth-place showing to lead the Red Storm to a third place finish on Monday in the Sacred Heart Fall Classic at Great River Golf Club.

Sunday's suspended first round resumed Monday morning and the final round followed immediately after. The Red Storm carded a 329-320--649 (+73) to take third place in the 10-team event. Yale won the tournament with a 47-over 623 and Brown took second at 67-over 643.

Oswald carded a 79-77--156 (+12), finishing eight strokes back of Yale's Seo Hee Moon, who led the 61-player field with a 75-73--148 (+5). Oswald's fifth-place finish was her second top-10 showing of the season. She tied for eighth in the Towson Invitational (Sept. 13-14).

Freshman Harin Lee continued her strong start to her collegiate career with her fourth top-10 finish in just her fifth event, bouncing back from a first-round 82 with a 78 on Monday to finish at 16-over 160.She tied for third in the Rutgers Invitational (Oct. 15-16), took third in the Yale Women's Intercollegiate (Sept. 25-26) and tied for fifth in the Towson Invitational.

Sophomore Sebin Kim tied for 22nd after carding an 85-80--165 (+21), marking her second top-25 finish of the year (tied for 19th at Towson Invitational). Sophomore Mariana Barrios took 30th place with an 83-85--168 (+24). Freshman Stephanie Eybers tied for 32nd after shooting 86-85--171 (+27).

The Red Storm completed its fall slate with three top-5 team showings. St. John's also took third in the Towson Invitational and fourth in the Rutgers invitational. The STJ women's golf team will be back in action in the spring.
