QUEENS, N.Y. - St. John’s junior women’s golf standout Harin Lee gets to add another accolade to her already impressive trophy case as she was named to the 2013 All-BIG EAST team for the third time in as many seasons. For the Bayside, N.Y. native - who was named the BIG EAST Rookie of the Year in 2011 after winning the conference title - this marks the third-straight season that Lee has been a unanimous selection.
In 2012-13, Lee notched three wins to tie her school record for most in a season, with titles at the Tignanelli Towson Invitational, the Rutgers Women’s Invitational and the Georgetown Women’s Hoya Invitational. She now has eight in her career, six more than any other golfer in St. John’s history.
Lee started off strong in the fall campaign, notching top-5 finishes in all four events, winning the Tignanelli Towson Invitational to open the season. After finishing fourth at the St. John’s Women’s Intercollegiate and being named the BIG EAST Women’s Golfer of the Month for September, she responded with a win at the Rutgers Women’s Invitational before tying for fifth at the Lehigh University Invitational to close out the fall season.
In the spring portion of the schedule, Lee started off with a third-place finish at the loaded field of the Kiawah Island Intercollegiate. Two events later she notched her second top-five with a second-place finish at the Pinehurst Challenge. After finishing second in both her freshman and junior campaigns at the Georgetown event, Lee led wire-to-wire to card her eighth career title and earn BIG EAST Women’s Golfer of the Week honors on April 11th. She capped off her junior campaign with a fourth-place finish at the 2013 BIG EAST Championships.
