QUEENS, N.Y. - St. John’s women’s golf coach Ambry Bishop-LaRosa announced on Monday that Harin Lee has signed a National Letter of Intent and will join the Red Storm women’s golf program starting in the 2010-11 academic year. “We’re really excited for Harin to come to St. John’s,” Bishop-LaRosa said. “She is one of the top junior golfers in the country and we look for her to have a huge impact in our program.” Harin Lee — Bayside, N.Y./Bayside High School Lee, a Bayside, N.Y., native, is currently ranked 39th in the Polo Golf Rankings. She is coming off of a successful summer season in which she posted four top-3 finishes in American Junior Golf Association events. In July, Lee posted back-to-back second-place finishes. She carded a 73-75-74—222 (+6) at the Nemacolin Junior Classic (Farmington, Pa.) and a 75-70-70—215 (+5) before going to a six-hole playoff at the Lessing’s AJGA Classic (Lawrence, N.Y.). In August, Lee tied for third place in both the AJGA Northeast Open (Danbury, Conn.) and the AJGA Junior at Kingsmill Resort & Spa (Williamsburg, Va.). On Sept. 13, she earned a victory on the International Junior Golf Tour, shooting 74-68—142 (-2) at Blue Heron Pines Golf Club (Cologne, N.J.). During the 2008-09 season, Lee posted victories in each of the four IJGT tournaments she played in. She posted wins in tournaments at Eisenhower Park (East Meadow, N.Y.), Seaview Dolce Resort (Galloway, N.J.), Duke University Golf Club (Durham, N.C.) and Architect’s Golf Club (Lopatcong, N.J.).
