Watson spent the last two seasons at East Carolina, where she appeared in 37 games for the Pirates. As a sophomore in 2016, the Reston, Va., native scored her first collegiate goal after tallying a pair of assists during her freshman campaign.
Óladóttir joins the Red Storm by way of Reykjavik, Iceland, where she played for Fimleikafélag Hafnarfjarðar and the Iceland U-17 and U-19 national teams. Óladóttir saw action in 17 games during the 2016 season, logging 1,530 minutes of playing time. While with the Iceland U-19 club, Óladóttir was a part of a pair of shutouts as Iceland blanked Faroe Islands U-19, 5-0, before registering a 10-0 victory over Kazakhstan U-19 just two days later.
Last season, the St. John’s back line was among the nation’s best. The Johnnies allowed just 12 goals in 20 games, the best mark in the BIG EAST. Overall, the Red Storm posted a 0.565 goals-against average which ranked 13th in the country and recorded 12 shutouts, tying the program record set during the 2015 campaign.
St. John’s opens the 2017 season on Aug. 18, traveling to Philadelphia, Pa., to take on La Salle.
