Zsani Kajan Lands on BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll|
Aug. 21, 2017
BIG EAST Release
Kajan, a native of Budapest, Hungary, played 54 minutes as a substitute in the Red Storm's season opener at La Salle. Seeing action in a collegiate game for the first time, Kajan scored a goal on a team-high five shots. Her tally came off a brilliant strike from 20 yards out in the 72nd minute and broke a 2-2 tie.
Before St. John's, Kajan was a star on both the international and club level in Hungary, earning her first cap for the full national team at just 16 years old. Kajan missed all of last season due to an injury suffered early in training camp.
Kajan and the Red Storm return to the pitch on Tuesday, when St. John's plays host to Marist at 7:30 p.m. on Belson Stadium. The game can be seen live on RedStormSports.com with Ralph Bednarczyk and Glenn Crooks on the call.
