QUEENS, N.Y. -
With the game-wining goal over Quinnipiac on Sunday, St. John's women's soccer player C.J. Ludemann has earned the BigAppleSoccer.com Goal Of The Week honor, as announced on Monday.
The junior scored the winner and the only goal of the game in the 19th minute of play on Sunday. Sarah McGrath had the ball and passed it to Ludemann, who was 30 yards out from the net. Ludemann took the pass and kicked the ball high, bending it at the last minute over keeper Jillian Kelley's head for the score. The goal was the first of the season for Ludemann and the assist was McGrath's second of the year.
On the weekend, Ludemann was the team's offensive leader, finishing with a team-high six shots, five on goal. She played in 181 minutes out of a total of 200, and closed out the tournament with four shots on goal against the Bobcats.
The Red Storm (4-1-1) will resume action on Friday, Sept. 19, when it opens BIG EAST play at Syracuse at 6 p.m. The team will return to Belson Stadium on Sunday and wrap up non-conference play hosting Princeton at 1 p.m.
