Top Drawer Soccer Release
QUEENS, N.Y. - In the midst of their team's seven-game unbeaten streak that has resulted in the Red Storm sitting at first place in the BIG EAST, freshmen Allie Moar and Jesse Schaefer have been named to the Top Drawer Soccer Midseason Freshman 100, it was announced today.
Moar ranked 57 in the top 100, while Schaefer checked in at 86.
Moar, a product of Winnipeg, Manitoba, has started all 15 games at the midfield position for Coach Ian Stone, ranking fourth on the team with four points. She also ranks second on the team with 19 shots, one of which found the back of the net in the BIG EAST opener against Xavier.
Schaefer, a Dublin, Ohio, native, has played every minute of every game for the Red Storm so far this season, picking up the first goal of her St. John's career against Marquette on Oct. 2. She has helped anchor one of the toughest back lines in the league during her time in Queens, helping lead the Red Storm defense that has surrendered just two goals in seven games during conference play.
Moar, Schaefer and the first-place Red Storm resume play on Sunday, welcoming Providence to Belson Stadium for its regular season home finale. First kick is set for 1 p.m.
