CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The St. John’s women’s tennis team concluded their final fall season tournament of the year over the weekend at the 2013 USTA/ITA Northeast Regional in Cambridge, Mass. Freshman Anna Morozova and junior Nastya Polyakova highlighted the action for the Red Storm with each picking up singles victories in their first round matchups.

Polyakova topped Katie Derienzo of Sacred Heart by the same score as her teammate, 6-0, 6-3. It took three sets to defeat Polyakova, Jacqueline Crawford of Dartmouth knocked off the junior in the second round.
In doubles, Morozova and senior Yanita Arnaudova put together a strong effort against Harvard’s He/Liang, but the Crimson duo prevailed in the tiebreak, 8-7(6).
St. John’s won’t return to action this year, but the Red Storm will be back on Jan. 17 to compete in the Yale Classic in New Haven, Conn.
