HANOVER, N.H. - Sophomore Alyssa Liantonio of the St. John's women's tennis team brought home a pair of wins as the Red Storm competed in its final fall tournament at Dartmouth over the weekend. Liantonio defeated Gabriella Jannotta of UMass (6-2, 6-2) before joining with Ira Aleksova to win a doubles match against Jocelyn Providence and Candynce Boney of UMass, 8-6. The Big Green Invite featured St. John's,Boston, UMass and host, Dartmouth. Jenny Yonkus went 2-1 in singles play on the weekend. Ece Firat, Nakita Austin, Joanna Zwirbulis and Ksenia Mikhaylova each won a match in the invitational as well. Yonkus and Firat teamed up in the doubles bracket for a win over Boston, 8-6. Zwirbulis and Mikhaylova also defeated a team of Tanisha Hodgson and Chantal Swiszcz from UMass. The Big Green Invite concluded the fall portion of the 2009-10 season for St. John's.
