BOSTON, Mass. – St. John’s dropped its first dual match of the season on Sunday against America East foe Boston University, 6-1, at the Track & Tennis Center in Boston. Freshman Amber Washington produced the Red Storm’s point in the No. 3 singles slot when she defeated Leonie-Charlotte Athanasiadis in straight sets, 6-4, 7-5. In the No. 1 singles slot, senior Nevena Selakovic claimed the first set before losing the next two to the Terriers’ Lauren Davis. Junior Diamond Adams played a tough match at the No. 4 singles position where she fell to Jessi Linero, 7-6, 1-6, 6-0. Selakovic and Adams were leading their doubles match against Linero and Athanasiadis 5-4 before play was stopped.
